CHCI welcomes Paul Lowry as faculty affiliate

Paul Benjamin Lowry, PhD, is an Eminent Scholar and the Suzanne Parker Thornhill Chair Professor in Business Information Technology, Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech. He received his PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, which is one of the top-5 information systems in the world. His advisor was the esteemed Jay F. Nunamaker, Jr., one of the founders of the information systems field. He received his MBA from the internationally recognized Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. He received his B.S. in Information Management and a minor in business from Brigham Young University.
Lowry performs research in four areas, all of which he also researches from international and cross-cultural perspectives: (1) organizational and behavioral security and privacy; (2) online deviance, online harassment, and computer ethics; (3) HCI, social media, and gamification; and (4) Business analytics, decision sciences, innovation, and supply chains. He is the former co-EIC of AIS Transactions on HCI. His primary HCI interests are the Metaverse, gamification, gaming, augmented AI agents, and fitness technologies.
