ARIES and CHCI host visit with Oberon Technologies 3/20

The Applied Research in Immersive Experiences and Simulations (ARIES) program at the University Libraries, and the Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI) will host Oberon Technologies on campus (Torgersen 1100) on Monday, March 20.  Todd Ogle will chair the event which is open to all interested VT faculty and students. Attend one or all sessions.

Come MEET and ENGAGE with Oberon Technologies, the leading provider of  fully-immersive VR training solutions for the commercial market in environments where safety, security, or efficient cost of delivery is critical. The company develops training simulations using virtual reality coupled with a learning management system.

Plan for the day

  • 9:00 - 10:00 am: Overview of Oberon and XR market. Use cases and live VR demos.
  • 10:15 - 11:15 am: Tools and techniques in VR. Development pipeline and live demos.
  • 12:45 pm - 2:15 pm: One-to-one w/ students and faculty.

What to expect from this event?

One can expect to learn about the value of VR to commercial industries, the future of VR technology growth, and opportunities and challenges related to commercial VR technology solutions. Faculty can explore potential collaborations in research and teaching, and students can learn about preparing for work in the training industry using VR.
