CHCI Welcomes New Member Ed Gitre
CHCI welcomes new member Ed Gitre.
Ed is faculty in the History Department. He has worked with several CHCI faculty on projects relating to digital history, including a new grant (2019-21) from the National Endowment for the Humanities, titled “The American Soldier in World War II” (https://vtnews.vt.edu/articles/2019/09/clahs-gitre-nea-grant-2.html) and an earlier NEH award titled “The American Soldier Collaborative Digital Archive” ( 2017-18). Ed is also currently working with CHCI faculty Chris North, David Hicks, and Doug Bowman on “Immersive Space to Think,” which provides historians with tools for reading, organizing, and annotating virtual source documents in a large physical space.
