CHCI Affiliated Faculty and Students to Participate in the 63rd International Annual Human Factors and Ergonomics Society

Multiple CHCI affiliated faculty and students are participating in the 63rd International Annual Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) Meeting in Seattle, October 28-November 1, 2019 (http://www.hfes2019.org/).

The HFES meeting, featuring in-depth studies in 120 concurrent sessions, is attended by certified ergonomists, academics, practitioners, and consultants who work in a variety of areas including government, military, hospitals, universities, research institutes, engineering firms, consumer safety ​laboratories, manufacturing companies and many other areas. 

Prof. Nathan Lau will be chairing a panel on ubiquitous user monitoring: Lau, N., Hildebrandt, M., Althoff, T., Boyle, L. N., Czerwinski, M., Lee, J. D., & Mehta, R. K. Human in focus: Future research and applications of ubiquitous user monitoring. Panel session.

PhD ISE student Tianzi Wang (Nathan Lau, Advisor) will be presenting a co-authored paper: Wang, T., Mellis, A.M., Bickel, W.K., & Lau, N. Integrating episodic future thinking into virtual reality to mitigate substance use disorders. Proc. the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.

Nayara Faria (ISE PhD Student, Joe Gabbard, Advisor) will present a co-authored research poster: Nayara de Oliveira Faria, Dina Kandil, and Joseph L. Gabbard, “Augmented reality head-up displays effect on drivers' spatial knowledge acquisition”.
