4th Annual CHCI Student Research Symposium 2024

June 10, 2024

The CHCI Student Council hosted the 4th Annual CHCI Student Research Symposium on Friday, April 26, 2024, in the Gilbert Place building. The goal of the Symposium was to celebrate the creativity and scholarship of CHCI students and provide feedback from fellow CHCI members in an inclusive and supportive environment. The event was preceded by an end-of-year, center-wide meeting that provided updates and highlights from the year and heard news from faculty and student participants.

A large, bright conference room is filled with people attending a research poster presentation event. Several research posters are displayed around the room, and groups of attendees are engaged in discussions . On the left, a woman in black converses with a man wearing a light blue shirt in front of a poster. In the middle, two men stand near each other, with one pointing towards the posters. On the right side of the room, other groups are gathered, actively discussing the research on display. The room is well-lit, with windows providing natural light and a projector screen at the front displaying presentations. The atmosphere appears lively and collaborative.

Twenty-four teams (comprising forty-six undergraduate or graduate students) presented their research in poster and/or demo format. There were over 50 attendees, including graduate and undergraduate students and faculty from multiple departments. Many thanks to the CHCI Student Council for their incredible effort in making this event a success: Justin Kerobo, Levern Currie, Daniel Manesh, Nikitha Chandrashekar, Matthew Gallagher, Jennifer Mitchell, Udbhaav Mudgil, Saeid Alimoradi, Maryam Rahimi Movassagh, and Morva Saaty.
