Join us on 11/20 at the SI and IE research meetings for talks with Neelma Bhatti, Alexander Leonessa and Divya Srinivasan
Neelma Bhatti will speak about her research during the Social Informatics meeting this Friday at 10 am. Her work focuses on the experiences of international student mothers and their use of technology. She will discuss the potentially controversial benefits of using technology as a childcare proxy, and the nexus of perceived opportunities, emotional implications, and risks inherent in designing technologies for this population.
Alexander Leonessa and Divya Srinivasan will speak about Forcebot during the Immersive Experiences meeting this Friday at 1 pm. Their Forcebot project hopes to create a full-body virtual reality rig that allows users to see the environment through a headset, achieve touch via the HaptX gloves, and both walk and interact by using an exoskeleton.
